Röhrs Helical Disk Springs
Helical disc springs can in many cases replace the familiar multi-layer disc spring assembly. The springs consist of two to four identical helical compression springs made of steel strips and have a cross section similar to that of disc springs screwed together.
These springs offer the following advantages:
- Component only comprised of a single part, therefore it does not break into individual discs
- Easy low-cost assembly and maintenance
- Diagrams cannot be negatively influenced by incorrect layering and greasing
- Low risk of breakage, since springs are made of steel strips with continuous flow line
- High operational safety since there is no loss of operating stroke following a fracture – the spring force is almost completely retained
- No friction due to mandrels or sleeves, since a continuous spring guide is not required for corresponding strong springs
- A small series can be manufactured economically for all areas of installation
