Steep Taper Automatic Tool Change Grippers

BERG Steep Taper grippers are known world-wide for their reliability. Grippers are available for all international standards – CAT/ANSI/ASME B5.50, DIN, JIS/BT, etc. Certain designs, such as the SSKE, use a "universal spindle contour," allowing a machine builder to standardize spindle design while offering machines to all steep taper standards.

Capto Automatic Tool Change Grippers

As Sandvik's system partner, BERG Spanntechnik supplies customized tool clamping devices for the Capto system.

SHR Hydromechanical Tool Clamping Systems

The innovative SHR system from BERG Spanntechnik is ideally suited for ultra-compact spindle designs. Unlike a conventional drawbar system, SHR does not use a Belleville spring to clamp. Instead, a proprietary mechanically self-locking system retains the tool. Clamping and unclamping is handled hydraulically or pneumatically. The system is available for HSK, Steep Taper and Capto.

Tool Holder Unclamp Cylinders and Actuators

BERG Spanntechnik manufactures a complete range of specially-designed tool unclamp cylinders and actuators. Cylinders include the OHL/OHLK and SE/SEK lines (designed not to load spindle bearings), to the all-electric ESK actuators.

Complete Spring Packs

BERG Spanntechnik offers complete spring packs with Belleville springs, drawbar, and additional components as a "single-component" assembly. These engineering spring packs use tight-tolerance disk springs designed specifically for drawbar applications, allowing for compact design, optimum power, and consistent operation.

Depending on the customer's requirements, one or more media can be transmitted from the end of the spindle through the HSK, Steep Taper, or Capto automatic tool change gripper. BERG drawbar adapters provide the connection between the gripper and the drawbar.
